ALABAMA BOARD OF FUNERAL SERVICE MEMBERS


District 1: Mark N. Craddock, CFSP, Citronelle. Mr. Craddock previously served on the Board from January 1999 to December 2002, during which time he served as the Board's Chair. Mr. Craddock is a 1981 graduate of Jefferson State Community College. Mr. Craddock is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Alabama and Mississippi. He is currently the manager of Freeman Funeral Services in Citronelle and past president of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association. He is currently a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Mississippi Funeral Directors Association, Citronelle United Methodist Church, and supports many other various organizations in the community.

District 2: Lorenzo Wright, Prattville. Mr. Wright was appointed to the Board in January 2015, replacing Mr. Joe Lewis of Ozark. He is a 1972 graduate of Jefferson State Community College. Mr. Wright is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Mr. Wright is currently the manager of Central Funeral Services of Eufaula. He is a member of the Frazier United Methodist Church of Montgomery, the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.

District 3: Lance C. Brooks, Phenix City.Mr. Brooks was appointed to the Board in January 2018, replacing Mr. Sammy Seroyer. He is a 1993 graduate of Auburn University and a 2002 graduate of Jefferson State Community College’s Mortuary Education Program. Mr. Brooks is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and is the owner of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City. He is a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Phenix City Rotary Club, Phenix City Exchange Club, Alabama Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and serves as a board member of the CVCC Foundation and Phenix City Russell County Chamber.

District 4: Bart Kirtland, Boaz. Bart Kirtland was appointed to the Board in January 2012, replacing Mr. Jason Maise of Glencoe. Mr. Kirtland is a 1986 graduate of West End High School in Walnut Grove and a 1991 graduate of Jefferson State Community College. Mr. Kirtland is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He is currently the assistant manager of Albertville Memorial Chapel and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Boaz.

District 5: John C. Rudder, Scottsboro.Mr. Rudder previously served on the Board from January 2005 until December 2006. He is a 1981 graduate of Jefferson State Community College. Mr. Rudder is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Alabama and Tennessee. He is currently the manager of Rudder Funeral Home of Scottsboro and past president of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association. He is currently a member of Alabama Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Stevenson Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Scottsboro Rotary Club. Mr. Rudder has two sons, with his youngest son, Lucas, serving next to him in the family business.

District 6: Calvin Meadows, DD, CFSP, Montevallo. Dr. Meadows was appointed to the Board in January 2012, replacing Mr. Terry Wilson of Pell City. Rev. Meadows is Pastor of Present-Truth Church of Montevallo & Centreville. He attended Lawson State Community College and Wallace State Community College and has a Doctoral Degree from St. Thomas Christian College & Theological Seminary of Jacksonville, FL and is also a License Private Pilot. He began his funeral service career as owner and operator of The Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Montevallo in June 1994. He has been a Licensed Funeral Director since October 1996. He has been very instrumental in tutoring apprentice funeral directors, even from other firms preparing them for the national exam: which they all passed. He is a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association serving as District Six Representative and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.

District 7: Annie Bushelon Holt, CFSP, Birmingham. Mrs. Bushelon Holt was appointed to the Board in January 2018, replacing Mr. Jason Wyatt. She is a Tuskegee University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mrs. Bushelon Holt has been a licensed funeral director since 1976 and is the owner of Bushelon Funeral Home, Birmingham. She is a life member of the Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners, and the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Mrs. Bushelon Holt is also a member of Alabama Funeral Directors & Morticians Association and the Alabama Funeral Directors Association. She dedicates much of her time as an active member and Deaconess of the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, United Way, Golden Life Member of AKA Sorority, CEAF, Inc., and serves as President of General Missionary Society.
